The ball shape diffuses light in every direction so the room lights evenly rather than getting one hotspot underneath, which matters in a room where someone plays on the floor. The cord adjusts, so it can hang low over a corner or high out of the way of a ball.
Made from moulded resin with a metal fitting and adjustable cord. Slight colour variation between batches is normal.
Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth. Keep away from moisture. Switch off at the wall and let the fixture cool before cleaning.
