About Wall Mirrors

Mirrors That Bring More Light to Every Wall

A wall mirror does two jobs at once. It gives you a last look on the way out the door, and it catches light from a window or lamp and sends it back into the room, which helps narrow halls and small bedrooms feel more open. Our collection includes solid wood framed mirrors, some with a small shelf below, arched and gothic arch sets, a golden oval, a hand woven macrame round, decorative leaf and diamond mirror sets, lightweight acrylic mirror sheets, and lighted vanity mirrors with dimmable or backlit LEDs.

Getting Size and Hanging Right

  • Width: Over a dresser, console or sink, choose a mirror roughly two thirds the width of the furniture below it. Much wider looks top heavy, and much narrower looks like an afterthought.
  • Height: In an open entry, aim for the center of the glass at about 57 to 60 inches from the floor. Above furniture, leave a gap of 6 to 10 inches.
  • Weight and anchors: Solid wood and glass are heavier than they look. Screw into a stud or use wall anchors rated above the mirror's weight, and hang from two points so it stays level.
  • Frame style: Natural wood warms a rustic or boho room, a gold or baroque frame dresses up an entry, and acrylic sheets or sticker sets are light enough for a child's room.

Placement tip: Hang a mirror where it can see a window or a lamp. At the far end of a dim hallway, one tall mirror makes the run feel longer and noticeably brighter.

Getting ready is easier with magnification and built in light, which you will find in our vanity and makeup mirrors.

Common Questions About Wall Mirrors

Leave about 6 to 10 inches between the top of the dresser and the bottom of the frame. That gap keeps the two pieces reading as a pair while leaving room for a lamp or a small tray. If the mirror is very tall, let the top edge line up roughly with nearby door frames.

Light pieces such as acrylic mirror sheets and mirror wall sticker sets attach with adhesive, which suits renters. Framed glass and solid wood mirrors need real hardware, because adhesive strips are not a safe substitute for that kind of weight.

Several of our LED mirrors are designed for bathroom use, and some include an anti fog feature. Check each listing for its power source and any installation notes before you order, and keep plugs and switches away from splashing water.
