Finding the Right Throw
- Size: Around 50 by 60 inches drapes neatly over a sofa and covers one person. Sizes near 60 by 80 inches or larger stretch across a bed or cover two people sharing the couch.
- Warmth: Fleece, flannel and lamb fluff hold heat for winter evenings. Cotton gauze and ice silk stay light and cool on summer nights.
- Texture and look: Chunky knits and fringe add visible texture and suit relaxed rooms, while smooth flannel and fleece look cleaner and feel soft against skin.
- Care: Wash knits in cool water on a gentle cycle, ideally inside a laundry bag, and keep them away from zippers and hook and loop fasteners that snag loops.

Both are warm and soft. Fleece is lighter and dries faster, while flannel feels a little heavier and more like brushed cotton. For the coldest nights, a double sided lamb fluff throw adds extra loft.
Choose by the width of the mattress. A bed runner or a 50 by 70 inch throw across the foot is decorative, while covering a queen bed calls for our larger sizes, such as 78.7 by 90.6 inches.
Wash it inside out or in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle, skip rough fabrics in the same load and dry it flat or on low. If pills appear, a fabric shaver removes them without damaging the knit.
