Chunky knit has an open structure, so keep it away from anything that can catch a strand, such as a pet's claws or a rough chair frame, and lift a pulled loop back through with a crochet hook rather than cutting it. Wash it gently in cold water inside a mesh bag, and dry it flat rather than hanging it, since the weight of the wet yarn will stretch the knit out of shape.
