About Night Lights
Night Lights That Guide the Way Without Waking Anyone
A night light is a small thing that makes a big difference in the middle of the night. It shows the edge of a step, the bathroom door or the toy on the nursery floor, without flooding a room with light that wakes everyone up. Our night lights include plug in and rechargeable motion sensor lights, sets you can mount along a hallway, motion sensor cabinet lights for closets and pantries, galaxy and star projectors, a jellyfish lamp, moon and rose tree lamps, and soft silicone lights shaped for children's rooms. They are just as useful for older relatives, overnight guests who do not know the layout, and anyone who would rather not switch on a bright ceiling light at night.
Choosing a Night Light
- Motion or constant: Motion sensor lights come on only when someone walks past, which suits hallways, stairs and closets. A constant low glow is better for a child who likes to see the room.
- Color: Warm and amber tones feel gentle at night. Cool white is brighter and better for a pantry or garage.
- Power: Plug in lights never need charging. Rechargeable and magnetic lights mount anywhere, including spots with no outlet nearby.
- Brightness: Choose the lowest level that lets you see safely. Dimmable and multi mode lights let you fine tune it.
Placement tip: Mount motion sensor lights low on the wall, around knee height, along the route from bedroom to bathroom. Light at that level shows the floor clearly and stays out of sleepy eyes.

Common Questions About Night Lights
A warm, dim glow such as soft amber or warm white is a popular bedtime choice because it feels calm and is less glaring than bright white. Many of our projectors and lamps offer several colors, so you can experiment. Keep the light low and away from the crib or bed.
Place the projector well out of reach on a stable shelf or dresser, and keep cords away from the crib. Aim it at the ceiling rather than toward the child's eyes. Follow the manufacturer's age and usage guidance, and use the timer if the model has one.
Most use a magnetic strip or adhesive plate, so the light lifts off for charging and snaps back into place. Clean the surface before sticking the plate down. Recharge by USB when the light starts to dim.
