Measure floor to ceiling in the stairwell before choosing, since the height above is the full drop of the fixture.
Answered by the Nora Furnish team
About this piece
Measure the full floor to ceiling height of the stairwell first. The 6 light version is 70.87 inches high for a single story landing, and the sizes step up to the 28 light version at 255.91 inches for a double height entry.
Not by much. The fixture is sized to the void, so compare your stairwell height with the drop listed under Dimensions and choose the version that fits rather than planning to shorten it.
An electrician. It is long, heavy at the larger sizes and fixed above a stairwell, so the ceiling fixing must be rated for the load and the work needs proper access equipment rather than a ladder on the stairs.
Yes, returns are open for 30 days. The item must be unused and in its original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before shipping anything back and we will walk you through the steps.

Yes, all of our fixtures are rated for standard US 110 to 120V. They are not dual voltage unless the listing specifically states that.
Voltage details are in the Specifications section on this page.
Several of our fixtures come in multiple finish options including matte black, brushed nickel, antique brass, and white. Check the Finish or Color selector on this page to see available options.
Yes, many of our pendant and flush mount fixtures are compatible with sloped ceilings using a standard angled canopy adapter (sold separately at most hardware stores). We recommend verifying the ceiling angle and the canopy specs before ordering. Email info@norafurnish.com with your ceiling pitch and we will advise.

QWhich size should I choose?
NORA FURNISH
Measure the full floor to ceiling height of the stairwell first. The 6 light version is 70.87 inches high for a single story landing, and the sizes step up to the 28 light version at 255.91 inches for a double height entry.
QCan it be shortened?
NORA FURNISH
Not by much. The fixture is sized to the void, so compare your stairwell height with the drop listed under Dimensions and choose the version that fits rather than planning to shorten it.
QWho should install it?
NORA FURNISH
An electrician. It is long, heavy at the larger sizes and fixed above a stairwell, so the ceiling fixing must be rated for the load and the work needs proper access equipment rather than a ladder on the stairs.
QWhat sizes are available?
NORA FURNISH
Seven: 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24 and 28 light versions. They range from 15.75 inches wide and 70.87 inches high up to 27.56 inches wide and 255.91 inches high.
QHow do I measure my stairwell?
NORA FURNISH
Measure the full floor to ceiling height of the stairwell and compare it against the drop listed under Dimensions. Choose a version that leaves comfortable clearance above the lowest point anyone walks.
QDoes it need bulbs?
NORA FURNISH
No. The LEDs are built into the rings behind acrylic diffusers, so there are no bulbs to fit or replace, which matters on a fixture hung high above a stair.
QWhat is it made of?
NORA FURNISH
A metal stem and ring frames with acrylic diffusers over integrated LED boards. Finish tone may vary slightly between batches. Email info@norafurnish.com with any questions before ordering.
QWhy are the rings staggered?
NORA FURNISH
Staggering the rings down the stem spreads the light across every level of the stairs and makes the shape look different from each turn, rather than stacking all the light at one height.
QIs it heavy?
NORA FURNISH
The larger sizes are heavy, so the ceiling fixing has to be rated for the load. An electrician should confirm the fixing and install it with proper access equipment.
QIs it hardwired?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. It is hardwired to a ceiling point rather than plugged in, so turn the power off at the breaker before any work starts. Email info@norafurnish.com with any questions before ordering.

Brightness is perfect — cozy without being dim. Feels solid and well constructed. Took one star off only because setup took a little patience.
