Common Questions

Answered by the Nora Furnish team

About this piece

Which size suits a wall above a sofa?

Above a standard sofa, the 23.6 or 31.5 inch moon usually looks balanced. The 39.4 inch moon makes a dramatic statement on a large wall, while 9.4 and 11.8 inch moons suit hallways, bedside walls and groups.

Warm white or 3 step?

Warm white, 2700K to 3999K, gives the most moonlike, cozy glow. The 3 step version moves between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K, so you can make it brighter or cooler when you need more light.

How far does it stick out from the wall?

It is only 1.57 inches deep, so it sits almost flat against the wall like a framed picture, which suits hallways and walls behind furniture.

Do you offer this in a matte black finish?

Several of our fixtures come in multiple finish options including matte black, brushed nickel, antique brass, and white. Check the 'Finish' or 'Color' selector on the product page to see available options.

Can this be installed on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?

It is not a ceiling fixture, so a sloped ceiling does not affect it.

Can I use LED bulbs with this fixture?

The LED is built in, so it does not take bulbs at all and there is nothing to replace.

Can this be used outdoors or in a covered patio?

Only if the listing specifically states 'outdoor rated' or 'wet/damp location rated.' Indoor fixtures should not be used outdoors as moisture can damage the wiring and finish. We have a dedicated outdoor lighting collection if you're looking for patio options.

How long is the included hanging cord or chain?

It does not hang on a cord, chain or rod, so there is no drop to set. The full measurements are in the Specifications section on this page.

Shipping, returns and help

Is shipping free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.

What is your return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.

What if it arrives damaged or faulty?

We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?

Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.

Do I need an electrician?

Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.

Can I order it in another size or finish?

Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.

How do I reach you?

Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

NORA FURNISH

QWarm white or 3 step?

NORA FURNISH

Warm white, 2700K to 3999K, gives the most moonlike, cozy glow. The 3 step version moves between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K, so you can make it brighter or cooler when you need more light.

QHow far does it stick out from the wall?

NORA FURNISH

It is only 1.57 inches deep, so it sits almost flat against the wall like a framed picture, which suits hallways and walls behind furniture.

QWhat sizes are available?

NORA FURNISH

Six diameters: 9.4, 11.8, 19.7, 23.6, 31.5 and 39.4 inches, all 1.57 inches deep. The measurements for each size are listed and drawn in the Dimensions section of this page.

QWhat is it made of?

NORA FURNISH

The body is iron. Slight variation in color and finish between units is normal on this kind of fixture, and all required mounting hardware and instructions are included.

QWhat light options are there?

NORA FURNISH

Warm white from 2700K to 3999K, or a 3 step version that moves between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K. Warm white gives the most moonlike, cozy glow for evenings.

QCan it light a whole room?

NORA FURNISH

It is an accent light rather than a main light. It gives a wall a soft, atmospheric glow, so pair it with a lamp or a ceiling light for reading and everyday tasks.

QCan I hang several moons together?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. Two or three moons in different sizes on one wall create a lovely gallery effect. It is sold singly or in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10.

QIs it suitable for a child's room?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. A small moon on a low warm setting makes a comforting night light, and because it looks like art rather than a nursery product, it can stay as the child grows.

QDoes it need an electrician?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. It is hardwired, so an electrician should connect it with the power off at the breaker. All required mounting hardware and instructions are included with the lamp.
