LED Wall Sconces
About LED Wall Sconces
LED Wall Sconces With Slim Profiles and Easy Upkeep
LED wall sconces have their light source built in, so there is no socket to fill and no bulb to hunt for later. That frees designers to make the fixture far slimmer: long line bars, curved arcs, thin goosenecks and flat discs that sit close to the wall. They use little energy and run cooler than incandescent bulbs, which is handy beside a bed or in a child's room. This collection includes linear and curved strips, a cloud shaped nursery lamp, magnetic dual head lights, touch sensor rechargeable sconces, bathroom bars in black and copper and flexible reading arms. Finishes run from matte black and white to gold and copper, with a choice of light color on many models.
What matters with integrated LEDs
- Color temperature is set at purchase: Choose warm, neutral or cool in the options. Some models offer three color modes you can switch between.
- Dimming: Only models listed as dimmable should go on a wall dimmer. Others may offer touch or step dimming built into the fixture.
- Brightness: Check the wattage options. A higher setting suits hallways and bathrooms, and a lower one suits bedside use.
- Power type: Several are hardwired, some plug in and a few are rechargeable, so match the model to what your wall offers.
Placement tip: Use a low wattage LED sconce as a night path light in the hallway outside bedrooms, mounted a little lower than usual, so late night trips are lit without waking the whole house.

Common Questions About LED Wall Sconces
Because the light source is built in, the whole fixture is usually replaced rather than a bulb. LED boards generally last far longer than traditional bulbs in normal use, which is the tradeoff for that sealed design.
Flicker usually means the dimmer and the LED driver are not compatible, or the fixture is not made for dimming at all. Try a dimmer rated for LED loads, or run a non dimmable fixture on a standard switch.
Yes, and cooler running LEDs are a plus there. The cloud nursery lamp and touch dimmable designs give a gentle glow for bedtime; mount them out of reach of small hands and keep any cords secured.
