About the Parallel

Key Features

Two bars light up and down the wall
Black iron, paired with white or gold
Warm white, white or 3 step dimming

Two bars in one housing throw light both up and down the wall, so a single fixture shapes a whole stairwell instead of lighting one flat patch. Mounted vertically it draws the eye upward, which is the trick that makes a narrow hallway feel taller than it is. The black and gold pairing reads warm, and black and white keeps it quiet.

Common Questions

Answered by the Nora Furnish team

About this piece

Which length should I choose?

Five lengths are offered: 15.75, 23.62, 31.50, 39.37 and 47.24 inches. Shorter lengths suit a bedside or a narrow wall, while the longer ones make a strong vertical line on a stairwell or a tall hallway wall.

How does the 3 step version work?

It wires to a standard wall switch, and the switch changes the color of the light between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K, not the brightness. Because of that, do not fit it to a dimmer.

How far does it stick out from the wall?

The housing is 3.94 inches wide and stands 1.97 inches off the wall, and the 39 inch length is also offered at 1.77 inches deep. That slim profile keeps it clear of shoulders in a tight passage.

Is this light available in a larger or smaller size?

We do offer several size variants for many of our fixtures, check the size selector on the product page! If you don't see the exact dimension you need, send us a message and we can point you to the closest option in our catalog.

Can one person install this or do I need a helper?

Most people can fit it on their own, though a second pair of hands helps while you hold it in place and make the connection. It is hardwired, so it connects to the wiring at a wall box rather than plugging in. Turn the power off at the breaker before fitting it, and have an electrician make the connection if you are not comfortable with electrical work.

Can I use LED bulbs with this fixture?

The LED is built in, so it does not take bulbs at all and there is nothing to replace.

Is there a warranty on this light?

No separate warranty is listed for this light. For damaged or faulty items, see Shipping & Returns on this page, or email info@norafurnish.com.

What color temperature light does this produce?

The LED is built in, so the light color does not depend on a bulb. The light color is set by the Light Color option you choose.

Are the colors/finishes accurate to the photos?

We work hard to photograph our fixtures in accurate, natural lighting. The finish color in the photos is a close representation of what you'll receive. Monitor calibration can vary, but we've found the vast majority of customers are happy with the match. If color accuracy is critical, our return policy gives you peace of mind.

Shipping, returns and help

Is shipping free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.

What is your return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.

What if it arrives damaged or faulty?

We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?

Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.

Do I need an electrician?

Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.

Can I order it in another size or finish?

Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.

How do I reach you?

Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

QWhich length should I choose?

NORA FURNISH

QHow does the 3 step version work?

NORA FURNISH

It wires to a standard wall switch, and the switch changes the color of the light between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K, not the brightness. Because of that, do not fit it to a dimmer.

QHow far does it stick out from the wall?

NORA FURNISH

The housing is 3.94 inches wide and stands 1.97 inches off the wall, and the 39 inch length is also offered at 1.77 inches deep. That slim profile keeps it clear of shoulders in a tight passage.

QWhat sizes are available?

NORA FURNISH

Five lengths are offered: 15.75, 23.62, 31.50, 39.37 and 47.24 inches. The housing is 3.94 inches wide and stands 1.97 inches off the wall, and the 39 inch length is also offered at 1.77 inches deep.

QHow much power does it use?

NORA FURNISH

The built in LED draws 42W. There is no bulb to buy and none to replace, and the light wires to a standard wall switch, which an electrician should connect with the power off.

QWhat light colors can I choose?

NORA FURNISH

Choose Warm White, White or the 3 step version. The 3 step version switches between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K using the wall switch, so you can move from warm to cool light.

QCan I use a dimmer?

NORA FURNISH

No. On the 3 step version, the wall switch changes the color of the light, not the brightness, so a dimmer should not be fitted. Use a standard wall switch instead.

QWhat is it made of?

NORA FURNISH

It is made from iron with an acrylic diffuser, in black with white or black with gold. Slight color variation between the photos and the piece you receive is normal.

QWill it make my hallway look taller?

NORA FURNISH

Mounted vertically, the light draws the eye upward, which helps a narrow hallway feel taller. The up and down wash also adds depth to the wall. Longer lengths make the effect stronger.

QWhat comes in the box?

NORA FURNISH

The box includes one wall light, the mounting plate, screws and instructions. All required hardware is included, and an electrician should make the wired connection with the power off at the breaker.

Really nice, minor notes

Brightness is perfect — cozy without being dim. Sturdy and clearly made to last. It's perfect over the dining table. Minor wish-list item on the color, but really happy overall.

Solid purchase

The light is warm and inviting, not harsh at all. You can tell it's well made the moment you unbox it. Looks stunning in the entryway. Took one star off only because setup took a little patience.
