Sensors, Solar and the Neighbors
Motion sensors save power and grab more attention than a light left on all night, because a sudden change is hard to miss. Point the sensor at your own property rather than the sidewalk, or passing cars will trigger it all evening. Solar floods and wall lights mount without any wiring, as long as the panel sees several hours of direct sun; a shaded garage wall is better served by a wired fixture. Keep beams pointed down and inside your lot so a bright security light never lands in a neighbor's bedroom window.
