Why you'll love it

Double up shoes, save shelf space

A fixed wooden or metal shoe rack stays put all year, whether you need it or not. These plastic pieces fold flat when they are not needed, and they clip together and stack when they are, so the storage grows and shrinks with the room.

Each piece holds one pair, with a height that adjusts for flat shoes or taller ones. Choose a pack of five or ten, in black, sky blue or apple green. Keep a short stack in an entryway or build it taller inside a closet. Being plastic, the pieces are light enough to move whenever a dorm room or rental changes.

I have already bought it 3 times! Now I can keep the shoe rack organized and it's very convenient. My shoes are size 31 and they fit very well. With very large or men's shoes you would have to try, but it fits perfectly up to size 39 or 40 I think.

Thank you for coming back a third time for these. We are glad they keep things so organized, and it is helpful to know they fit comfortably up through about size 39 or 40.

The material is quite simple. Looks quite cheap. In general doing the work. It save space in the closet.

We hear you on the material feeling simple, and we appreciate the honest look at how it feels day to day. We are glad it is still doing its job saving space in your closet. If it is not holding up the way you need, please email info@norafurnish.com.

Not very easy to assemble the two halves together: sometimes a small plier is needed to properly snap the eye into the opening. The halves are not very long: size 43 barely fits. The upper half bends quite a bit. It's usable but doesn't feel very sturdy.

Reply from Nora Furnish

We are sorry assembly needed a plier to get the pieces to snap together properly, and that it felt like a tight fit for larger shoe sizes. That is more effort than it should take. Please email info@norafurnish.com with your order number so we can help.

The Nora Furnish guide

What Makes the 5 Piece Foldable Plastic Shoe Rack Set Such a Good Shoe Rack

Storage needs change. A dorm room fills up in the fall and empties in the summer, a rental comes with a new closet every lease, and a family's shoe collection swells with every season. A fixed shoe rack does not adapt; it stays the same size, and it stays assembled, whether it is full or half empty.

The 5 Piece Foldable Plastic Shoe Rack Set is built for change. Each piece holds one pair, the pieces clip together and stack to build height, and when they are not needed they fold flat and tuck away. The storage grows or shrinks with the space.

What makes the foldable set stand out

The fold flat design comes first. Unlike a wooden or metal rack that stays assembled year round, these pieces collapse when empty. Between seasons or between moves, they take up very little room in a cupboard or a box.

The stacking comes second. Each piece clips together from its own parts and then stacks on the next, which is how the height of the rack is built. A short stack suits a small entryway, while a taller column works inside a closet.

The adjustable height comes third. Each piece is 9.8 inches long and 3.5 inches wide, and its height adjusts from 2.6 to 5.9 inches. Low settings suit flats and sandals, while higher settings leave room for sneakers and taller shoes.

Finally, the pieces are light. Being plastic keeps them easy to move and reconfigure, which is exactly what a dorm or rental needs. Choose black for a neat, neutral look, or sky blue or apple green for a brighter room.

Where it looks best, room by room

  • Dorm rooms. A compact stack that packs away at the end of term.
  • Entryways. A short stack for everyday pairs by the door.
  • Bedroom closets. A taller column on the closet floor.
  • Kids' rooms. Bright colors that make tidying up easier.
  • Rentals. Storage that moves with you to the next place.

In an entryway, a short stack keeps the pairs you wear every day neat and easy to grab.

In a closet, a taller column uses the height that usually goes to waste above the floor.

In a child's room, sky blue or apple green adds a cheerful note and gives each pair a clear home.

Choosing the size and placement

Each piece measures 9.8 inches long and 3.5 inches wide, with an adjustable height from 2.6 to 5.9 inches. Measure the floor space and the height available before deciding how tall to build the stack.

A few tips help:

  • Choose the pack of five for a small entryway or a single person.
  • Choose the pack of ten for a family or a larger collection.
  • Set the height for each piece before loading shoes.
  • Put the heaviest shoes at the bottom of the stack.

Setting the height is easier with the shoes off, so adjust each piece first, then stack and load. Flat shoes can use lower settings, which lets more pieces fit in the same height.

Build the stack on a level floor and keep it against a wall or inside a closet, where it is protected from knocks.

Care is simple. Wipe the pieces with a soft, dry cloth, or with a slightly damp cloth for heavier marks, then dry them at once.

Let wet or muddy shoes dry before they go on a piece, which keeps the plastic clean and the stack fresh.

When the season changes, fold away the pieces you no longer need and store them flat. They are ready to rebuild whenever the space calls for them.

If two people share a closet, give each person their own column, and use different colors to tell them apart at a glance.

For a mixed collection, set the lower pieces higher for sneakers and the upper pieces lower for flats and sandals, so the stack stays compact.

Plan the stack before you build it. Count the pairs you want to store, decide which need the taller settings, and set those pieces first so they sit at the bottom, where the heavier shoes belong.

In a closet, stand the stack in a back corner where it is protected from knocks. In an entryway, keep it short so it stays steady as pairs are taken on and off each day.

Because each piece is separate, a damaged or unused piece can simply be removed without affecting the rest of the stack.

Pairing it with other pieces

A foldable set works well with a small bench or a floor tray by the door, where shoes can dry before they are stored. A basket for slippers and a hook for bags complete the entry. In a closet, matching storage boxes above keep the look tidy.

Browse the shoe storage collection for more shoe solutions, or the storage collection for boxes and baskets.

Pick one color for the whole stack for a calm look, or mix colors to sort shoes by person or by season.

Is the foldable shoe set right for your space?

This set is a strong fit if you:

  • Live in a dorm or a rental.
  • Want storage that folds away when not needed.
  • Need to adjust the height for different shoes.
  • Prefer light pieces that are easy to move.

It may not be the right choice for tall boots or for a permanent piece of entry furniture. A shoe cabinet or a wooden bench rack will suit those better.

Frequently asked questions

What pack sizes are available?

Packs of five or ten pieces. Black comes in both pack sizes, while sky blue and apple green are listed as packs of ten. Each piece holds one pair of shoes.

What are the dimensions of each piece?

Each piece measures 9.8 inches long and 3.5 inches wide, and its height adjusts from 2.6 to 5.9 inches. Measure your floor space before building the stack.

How do I put it together?

Each piece clips together from its own parts and then stacks on the next. Set the height for each piece before loading shoes, since it is easier with the shoes off.

What is it made of?

Durable plastic, which keeps the pieces light and easy to move and lets them fold flat. Slight color variation between the photos and the item you receive is normal.

Can it hold sneakers?

Yes. Raise the height toward 5.9 inches for sneakers and taller shoes, and lower it toward 2.6 inches for flats and sandals, so the stack stays compact.

How tall can I build it?

That depends on how many pieces you stack and the height setting of each. Keep a short stack in an entryway, run it taller inside a closet, and build on a level floor.

Is it good for a dorm room?

Yes. The pieces are light, stack to fit the space and fold flat at the end of term, so they are easy to pack and bring back the next year.

Where should heavy shoes go?

Put the heaviest shoes at the bottom of the stack and lighter pairs above. That keeps the column steady, especially when it is built tall inside a closet.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the pieces with a soft, dry cloth, or use a slightly damp cloth for heavier marks and dry them at once. Let wet shoes dry before storing them.

What comes in the box?

The pack you select, five or ten pieces, in black, sky blue or apple green. Shoes, decorative accessories and items shown in the product photos are not included with purchase.
