What makes the stair kit stand out
Step by step control is the key feature. Instead of the whole staircase lighting at once, the treads light one after another as you walk. With a sensor at the top and another at the bottom, the sequence runs in whichever direction you are going.
COB strips give a clean line. A COB strip has no visible dots, so each tread shows a solid line of light rather than a row of points. That looks smooth and modern and makes the edge of each step easy to see.

Choosing the size and placement
Each kit supplies one 3.3 foot COB strip per step, and the strip is 0.31 inches wide. The strips are pre spaced 13.8 inches apart on the main line. A 16 step kit uses 18.4 feet of main line, and a 20 step kit uses 23 feet. Each motion sensor cable is 3.3 feet long, the daylight sensor cable is 3.3 feet, and the extension cable is 16.4 feet.
- Count the steps. Pick the kit that matches your staircase, from 5 to 30 steps.
- Check tread spacing. The 13.8 inch spacing on the line is fixed, so compare it with your stairs.
- Sensors. Mount one sensor at the top and one at the bottom.
- Clean treads. Clean and dry each tread, then peel and press one strip onto each step.
- Power supply. Keep it indoors or under cover and out of standing water.
The lengths in the options show the total for each kit: 16.5 feet for 5 steps, 26.4 feet for 8 steps, 33 feet for 10 steps, and so on up to 99 feet for 30 steps. Because the spacing is fixed on the line, choosing the right step count matters.
