The practical result is that one product suits a stairwell and a doorway, rather than needing two different fittings. Better still, you set the paddles after the light is up, so the beam can be judged in place, on the actual wall, at night.

One fitting, many walls

Because the same cube can make narrow slots or a wide wash, it is easy to use throughout a property while giving each wall what it needs. Narrow slots suit a modern facade or a feature wall where the pattern of light is the point. A wide wash suits a doorway, a stairwell or a passage where useful light matters more.

Built to stay outside

The body is cast aluminum with a powder coated finish and a sealed silicone gasket, and it is rated IP65 for indoor and outdoor use. That combination is what lets it sit outside a front door and stay there through the seasons.

The LED is fixed, so there is no bulb to change. Do not open the housing, because that breaks the weather seal.

Choosing output, color and finish

Choose 6W or 12W. The lower output suits a doorway, a step or a narrow wall, while the higher output covers a larger surface or a taller wall.

Then choose the light color: warm white at 2700K to 3500K for a cozy, welcoming glow, or cool white at 5500K to 7000K for a crisp, modern look. Finally, pick black, white or gray to suit the wall. Powder coated finishes vary very slightly in tone between batches.

• Black for a crisp shape against pale render or brick.

One wall light is included per order, in the output, light color and finish you select. It runs on a mains supply and requires wiring by a competent person, so turn the power off at the breaker before starting.

• Mount the cube at the height that suits the wall and the job.
• Restore power and try the paddles at both settings after dark.
• Leave the paddles where the beam looks best on your wall.
• Keep every light on one wall at the same height.

Care

Wipe the cube with a soft, dry cloth, and dry it immediately after rain if it is mounted outdoors. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the powder coat, and do not open the housing, as that breaks the weather seal.

A quick wipe now and then keeps the finish looking new, and because the LED is fixed there is nothing else to maintain.
