The base tucks away almost completely, so what you actually see is the glass shade and the light coming through it. There are seven shade colors, from amber and smoke gray to rose red and blue, and each one tints the glow in its own way. Amber warms a bedroom at night, clear keeps the light bright for reading, and the deeper colors turn it into a small accent. Glass spreads the light evenly, so it never throws a harsh hot spot onto the wall.

Setup
- It is a hardwired installation, so turn the power off at the breaker before starting and have an electrician run a supply to the spot if there is nothing there already.

- The base is concealed behind the plate, so what shows on the wall is the glass rather than a bracket, and the shade spreads the light evenly instead of throwing glare at someone lying down.
- Fit it above a nightstand or along a hallway at a height that clears a head.
- Wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth.

Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.
