• Center the bar along the long side of the table or island it serves.

Once it is hung, aim the spots before you finish. Angle the outer spots toward the ends of the table and the inner spots toward the middle, so the light falls evenly across the whole surface. Let the fixture cool before adjusting the spotlights.

It wires into a ceiling point rather than plugging in, so turn the power off at the breaker before starting and have an electrician run a supply to the spot if there is nothing there already. The mounting plate and canopy come in the box.

Layering it with other lighting

Spotlights are focused light, so the room also needs a softer general layer. Recessed lights or a flush mount can light the rest of the space, and a lamp in the corner adds warmth for the evening.
