The Motion Sensor LED Stair Light is a kit built for staircases from 1 up to 40 steps. Each kit includes one 3.3 foot COB LED strip per step, the connecting line with the strips spaced 13.8 inches apart, two motion sensors and the power supply. The controller measures 5.9 inches long, 2.1 inches tall and 0.79 inches deep, and the sensor extension cable is 16.4 feet long. Choose warm white 3000K, natural white 4000K or cool white 6000K, as a standard kit or a remote kit.

What makes the dual sensor kit stand out

Two sensors cover both directions. With one sensor at the top and one at the bottom, the lights respond whether someone starts up or down the stairs. On a long staircase, a single sensor at one end would leave the far steps unresponsive.

The lights follow you. The strips light step by step and fade behind you, so the staircase glows only where it is needed. It looks modern, and it keeps energy use low.

The kit sizes are extensive. Kits run from a single step to 28 steps in single step increments, plus 32 and 40 step kits for very long staircases in larger homes or commercial buildings.

COB strips give a clean line. Each tread gets a continuous line of light along its edge, which shows the step clearly and looks tidy.

A remote kit is also offered. The listing names a remote kit alongside the standard kit but does not describe what the remote controls, so check before choosing if that matters to you.

Choosing the size and placement

Each kit includes one 3.3 foot COB strip per step. The main line spacing is 13.8 inches per step, and a 16 step main line is 18.4 feet long. The motion sensor measures 1.18 inches long and 0.63 inches tall, with a 0.55 inch lens and a 0.67 inch body depth.

• Count your steps. Order the matching kit, since the spacing is fixed.
• Check tread spacing. Compare the 13.8 inch line spacing with your stairs.
• Sensors. Mount one at the top and one at the bottom.
• Clean treads. Clean and dry each tread, then peel and press one strip onto each step.
• Power supply. Keep it indoors or under cover and out of standing water.

The option names show the total strip length for each kit, such as 16.5 feet for a 5 step kit and 132 feet for a 40 step kit. The dimensions section gives 16.4 feet and 131.2 feet for the same kits, a small rounding difference.

Layering it with other lighting

This stair kit is a guide light for safe footing. It works best alongside the rest of your home lighting.

Keep a ceiling light or a pendant over the stairwell for full brightness when you are carrying things or cleaning. Add a night light in the upstairs hallway so the path continues past the top step. In a basement, pair the kit with a ceiling light at the bottom of the stairs.
