What makes the rectangular panel stand out

The five lengths are the second strength, and each steps up in output. The 15.7 inch panel runs at 26 W, the 18.9 inch at 28 W, the 23.6 inch at 37 W, the 31.5 inch at 48 W and the 39.4 inch at 64 W. You can size the panel to a short landing or a long corridor, and the longer panels bring the extra light a longer space needs.

• In a galley kitchen, center it over the walkway so both counters get light.
• For a very long hallway, use two panels in a line rather than one oversized one.
• On a landing, place the panel where it lights the top steps clearly.

It wires into a ceiling point, so have an electrician make the connection with the power off at the breaker. The electrician can also confirm the ceiling point is centered in the corridor before installation.

Layering it with other lighting

A long flush panel gives a hallway or kitchen its ambient layer, and in many corridors it is all the light you need. To make a hallway feel warmer in the evening, add a lower layer such as wall lights at intervals or a small lamp on a console table.
