- On the solar version, wipe the panel now and then so it charges well.
- On the hardwired version, switch the power off and let the fixture cool before cleaning.
Common Questions
Answered by the Nora Furnish team
About this piece
Solar or hardwired, which should I pick?
Pick hardwired for a porch or entry with a junction box already in place. Pick solar for a gate post, fence or garden wall with no wiring, as long as it gets direct sun.
Does the solar version need an electrician?
No. It needs no wiring and simply mounts to the wall. The hardwired version should be wired by a licensed electrician.
Is the solar version bigger?
The lantern is the same size. The solar version adds a 6.3" x 4.7" panel on a bracket above it.
Shipping, returns and help
Is shipping free?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.
What is your return policy?
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.
Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?
Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.
Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.
Can I order it in another size or finish?
Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.
How do I reach you?
Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

Customer Reviews
QSolar or hardwired, which should I pick?
NORA FURNISH
Pick hardwired for a porch or entry with a junction box already in place. Pick solar for a gate post, fence or garden wall with no wiring, as long as it gets direct sun.
QDoes the solar version need an electrician?
NORA FURNISH
No. It needs no wiring and simply mounts to the wall. The hardwired version should be wired by a licensed electrician.
QIs the solar version bigger?
NORA FURNISH
The lantern is the same size. The solar version adds a 6.3" x 4.7" panel on a bracket above it.
QWhat size is it?
NORA FURNISH
Both versions stand 15.8 inches tall, 7.9 inches wide and 8.3 inches from the wall. The solar version adds a 6.3 by 4.7 inch panel above.
QWhat is it made of?
NORA FURNISH
Black die cast aluminum with clear glass panels. Slight variation in finish between units is normal.
QWhat bulb does it use?
NORA FURNISH
It uses an E27 LED bulb with CRI 80 light, and it lights an area of about 54 to 171 sq ft.
QWhere does the solar panel go?
NORA FURNISH
It sits on a small bracket above the lantern, so it charges from the sun without any separate panel to mount.
QHow is the hardwired version installed?
NORA FURNISH
It runs on 110V to 240V and mounts to a standard junction box. A licensed electrician should do the wiring.
QCan I mix solar and hardwired?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. They share one size and look, so a hardwired pair by the door and solar lanterns on the gate will match.
QHow much sun does the solar version need?
NORA FURNISH
Mount it where the panel gets direct sun for much of the day, away from deep shade, trees and overhangs.
