Common Questions

Answered by the Nora Furnish team

About this piece

Which width fits my post?

Measure the top of the post or pier. The light comes 9.84, 11.81, 15.75, 19.69 or 23.62 inches square. Choose a width close to the top of the post, so the fixture sits neatly without overhanging much.

Solar or hardwired?

Solar suits a gate or fence post with no power nearby, because there is no cable to run. Hardwired suits a permanent installation where power is planned and an electrician can make the connection.

What does the 3 step dimming do?

It moves the light between three color temperatures, 3000K, 4500K and 6000K. The warmest setting suits brick, stone and planting, while the coolest gives a crisp, modern look.

What color temperature light does this produce?

The LED is built in, so the light color does not depend on a bulb.

How do I clean this light fixture?

Turn off the power and let it cool first. Dust the exterior with a soft dry cloth or feather duster. For fingerprints on metal or glass parts, a lightly damp microfiber cloth works well. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that may damage the finish.

Does this fixture buzz or flicker?

It should not flicker or hum in normal use. The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to match.

Can I get replacement parts if something breaks?

Yes, contact us at info@norafurnish.com and we will do our best to source replacement parts, shades, or hardware. In many cases we can send a replacement component without requiring a full return.

How much ceiling clearance do I need to hang this?

It does not hang on a cord, chain or rod, so there is no drop to set.

Dimensions are in the Specifications section on this page.

Shipping, returns and help

Is shipping free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.

What is your return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.

What if it arrives damaged or faulty?

We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?

Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.

Do I need an electrician?

Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.

Can I order it in another size or finish?

Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.

How do I reach you?

Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

10 questions

QWhich width fits my post?

NORA FURNISH

QSolar or hardwired?

NORA FURNISH

Solar suits a gate or fence post with no power nearby, because there is no cable to run. Hardwired suits a permanent installation where power is planned and an electrician can make the connection.

QWhat does the 3 step dimming do?

NORA FURNISH

It moves the light between three color temperatures, 3000K, 4500K and 6000K. The warmest setting suits brick, stone and planting, while the coolest gives a crisp, modern look.

QWhat widths are available?

NORA FURNISH

Five widths: 9.84, 11.81 and 15.75 inches square at 7.09 inches tall, 19.69 inches square at 9.84 inches tall, and 23.62 inches square at 13.78 inches tall.

QCan it go on a brick pier?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. Choose the width closest to the top of the pier, so the fixture sits neatly. All required mounting hardware and instructions are included, and the square shape suits most piers.

QDoes the solar version need direct sun?

NORA FURNISH

It charges from daylight, so place it on posts that see good light during the day, away from overhanging trees or walls that shade the top of the post.

QWhat color light does it give?

NORA FURNISH

The LED has 3 step dimming between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K. The warm setting flatters brick, stone and planting, and the cooler settings give a brighter, crisper look.

QWhy ribbed glass?

NORA FURNISH

The ribs break the light into soft vertical lines, so the post glows with texture rather than showing a bright point of light. It looks gentler from the street and neat in daylight.

QCan I buy enough for a whole fence?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. It is sold singly or in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20 or 30, so every post along a fence line can have a matching light.

QHow do I clean the glass?

NORA FURNISH

Switch the light off and let it cool, then clean the glass with a soft damp cloth and dry it straight away. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the glass or the frame.

I recommend this product

Lovely, close to perfect

The finish catches the light beautifully. Feels solid and well constructed. Only reason it's not five stars is I wish it came a touch bigger, but that's a me thing.
