Common Questions

Answered by the Nora Furnish team

About this piece

Will it fit my pillar?

The lantern is 7.28 inches square and 13.98 inches tall. It suits most gate piers, fence posts and wall ends; measure the top of your pillar to make sure the base sits comfortably.

How does the solar version charge?

It charges from daylight through its solar panel, so there is no cable to run. Place it on a pillar that gets good light and keep the panel clear of dust and leaves.

What light colors can it give?

The light has 3 step dimming between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K. The warmest setting gives the classic golden lantern glow; the cooler settings are brighter and crisper.

Will the wood/natural material warp or discolor over time?

No, our wood and rattan fixtures are treated to resist normal humidity levels in interior spaces. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight for extended periods or in rooms with very high humidity. With reasonable care they maintain their appearance for years.

How durable is the finish? Will it chip or tarnish?

No, our fixtures use powder coat or electroplated finishes designed to resist chipping, rust, and tarnishing under normal indoor conditions. For bathrooms or humid areas, we recommend choosing a fixture rated for damp or wet locations.

How long is the included hanging cord or chain?

It does not hang on a cord, chain or rod, so there is no drop to set. The full measurements are in the Specifications section on this page.

What is the maximum wattage for this fixture?

The maximum wattage is listed on the fixture label and in the Specifications section on this page. Using bulbs at or below this rating is important for safety.

Does it come with mounting hardware and instructions?

Yes, it ships with the mounting hardware it needs and an instruction sheet.

Is installation difficult? Do I need an electrician?

The Hardwired version connects to your household wiring, while the Solar version charges by daylight and needs no wiring. Choose the one you want in the Power Supply option.

Shipping, returns and help

Is shipping free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.

What is your return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.

What if it arrives damaged or faulty?

We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?

Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.

Do I need an electrician?

Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.

Can I order it in another size or finish?

Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.

How do I reach you?

Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

QWill it fit my pillar?

NORA FURNISH

The lantern is 7.28 inches square and 13.98 inches tall. It suits most gate piers, fence posts and wall ends; measure the top of your pillar to make sure the base sits comfortably.

QHow does the solar version charge?

NORA FURNISH

It charges from daylight through its solar panel, so there is no cable to run. Place it on a pillar that gets good light and keep the panel clear of dust and leaves.

QWhat light colors can it give?

NORA FURNISH

The light has 3 step dimming between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K. The warmest setting gives the classic golden lantern glow; the cooler settings are brighter and crisper.

QHow big is the lantern?

NORA FURNISH

It is 7.28 inches wide, 7.28 inches deep and 13.98 inches tall. That size suits most gate piers, fence posts and wall ends; measure the top of your pillar before ordering.

QWhat is it made of?

NORA FURNISH

It is made from aluminum and glass. Slight variation in color and finish between units is normal on this kind of outdoor fixture, and the black frame suits brick and stone piers.

QDoes the solar version need direct sun?

NORA FURNISH

It charges from daylight, so place it on a pillar that gets good light during the day and keep the solar panel clear of dust and leaves so it charges fully.

QWhat does 3 step dimming mean?

NORA FURNISH

The light moves between three color temperatures: 3000K, 4500K and 6000K. The warm setting gives a classic lantern glow; cooler settings are brighter and crisper.

QCan I mix solar and hardwired lanterns?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. Both versions share the same look, so you can use solar on distant posts and hardwired near the house while keeping one consistent style.

QHow many can I order?

NORA FURNISH

It is sold singly or in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20 or 30, so every pier or post along a boundary can have a matching lantern.

QDoes the hardwired version need an electrician?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. A hardwired lantern connects to your power supply, so an electrician should run the cable and make the connection with the power off at the breaker.

Fine, nothing special

Fine, about what you'd expect. The light is warm and inviting, not harsh at all. Not as premium as I hoped but perfectly usable.

I recommend this product

Really nice, minor notes

The dimming works smoothly across the whole range. Sturdy and clearly made to last. Took one star off only because setup took a little patience. Already thinking about ordering another.
