Common Questions

Answered by the Nora Furnish team

About this piece

How many cubes do I need?

One cube on each step, or one at each end of a wide step, is a common layout. For a deck edge, space them evenly. Sets range from 4 to 30 pieces, so count your steps before ordering.

How do they charge?

They are solar powered, charging from daylight through their panels. Place them where they get good light during the day and keep the panels clear of dust and leaves.

Which light color should I choose?

Warm white, 2700K to 3999K, gives an elegant golden glow. White, 5000K to 6500K, looks crisp and modern. Blue and green add a playful accent for a pool deck or garden party.

Is installation difficult? Do I need an electrician?

It runs on solar power, charged by daylight, so there is no wiring and nothing to plug in.

What material is the shade/frame made from?

Material details are listed in the Specifications section on this page. Most of our shades are metal, glass, or fabric depending on the style. If you need specific composition details, email info@norafurnish.com and we will confirm.

What is the return policy if I don't like it?

Yes, returns are open for 30 days. The item must be unused and in its original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before shipping anything back and we will walk you through the steps.

What room size is this fixture best suited for?

Our product descriptions include recommended room sizing. As a rule of thumb, add the room length and width in feet and the sum in inches is a good starting diameter for a fixture. So a 10 by 12 ft room suits a fixture around 22 inches across.

Specs are in the Specifications section on this page.

Is this suitable for a kitchen island?

It is not a pendant, so it is not designed to hang over an island.

Dimensions are in the Specifications section on this page.

Are the colors/finishes accurate to the photos?

Yes, we photograph our fixtures in accurate, natural lighting. The finish color in the photos is a close representation of what you will receive. Monitor calibration can vary, but the vast majority of customers are happy with the match. Our 30 day return policy gives you peace of mind.

Shipping, returns and help

Is shipping free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.

What is your return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.

What if it arrives damaged or faulty?

We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?

Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.

Do I need an electrician?

Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.

Can I order it in another size or finish?

Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.

How do I reach you?

Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

QHow many cubes do I need?

NORA FURNISH

One cube on each step, or one at each end of a wide step, is a common layout. For a deck edge, space them evenly. Sets range from 4 to 30 pieces, so count your steps before ordering.

QHow do they charge?

NORA FURNISH

They are solar powered, charging from daylight through their panels. Place them where they get good light during the day and keep the panels clear of dust and leaves.

QWhich light color should I choose?

NORA FURNISH

Warm white, 2700K to 3999K, gives an elegant golden glow. White, 5000K to 6500K, looks crisp and modern. Blue and green add a playful accent for a pool deck or garden party.

QHow big is each cube?

NORA FURNISH

Each cube is 3.94 inches square and 2.17 inches high, and weighs 0.44 lb. That compact size fits most step treads and deck boards without getting in the way.

QWhat are they made of?

NORA FURNISH

The cubes are made from glass. Slight variation in color and finish between units is normal on this kind of fixture, which is part of their icy, handmade look.

QWhat light colors are available?

NORA FURNISH

Warm white from 2700K to 3999K, white from 5000K to 6500K, and blue or green. Warm white suits wood decks and stone steps; blue and green suit pool decks and parties.

QDo they need wiring?

NORA FURNISH

No. They are solar powered, charging from daylight through their panels, so there are no cables to run along stairs, across a patio or under a deck.

QHow many come in a set?

NORA FURNISH

Sets come in 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20 or 30 pieces. Count your steps or measure your deck edge to choose the right set size before ordering.

QCan I use them on a pool deck?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. The blue and green versions look especially good around a pool, marking the edge of the deck with a festive glow in the evening.

QWhere should I place them on a step?

NORA FURNISH

Place one cube at the same end of each step, or one at each end of wide steps, keeping them a little back from the edge so they are not kicked.

Exactly as pictured, which is rare these days. The glow it gives off is beautiful in the evening. Heavier and more substantial than I expected, in a good way. So glad I bought it.
