About the Torch
Key Features
- Torchiere uplight bounces off the ceiling
- Dimmable, color changing LED
- Single lamp or sets of up to 10
A torchiere throws light at the ceiling and lets it fall back evenly, which lifts a whole room rather than lighting one corner of it. The color changing LED means it can be plain white for reading and a color for an evening, from the same fitting.

Common Questions
Answered by the Nora Furnish team
About this piece
Why choose a torchiere instead of a shaded lamp?
A torchiere lights upward. The light hits the ceiling and spreads back down across the room, which gives soft, even brightness everywhere. A shaded lamp lights the area around it, so it suits reading, while a torchiere suits lighting the whole room.
Can I dim it and change the color?
Yes. The built in LED is dimmable and color changing, so you can use plain white for everyday light and switch to a color for a relaxed evening or a party.
Where should it not go?
Because it lights upward, it needs clear space above it. Avoid placing it under a low shelf, a sloping ceiling or a hanging cabinet, where the light would be blocked.
Shipping, returns and help
Is shipping free?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.
What is your return policy?
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.
Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?
Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.
Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.
Can I order it in another size or finish?
Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.
How do I reach you?
Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

Customer Reviews
QWhy choose a torchiere instead of a shaded lamp?
NORA FURNISH
A torchiere lights upward. The light hits the ceiling and spreads back down across the room, which gives soft, even brightness everywhere. A shaded lamp lights the area around it, so it suits reading, while a torchiere suits lighting the whole room.
QCan I dim it and change the color?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. The built in LED is dimmable and color changing, so you can use plain white for everyday light and switch to a color for a relaxed evening or a party.
QWhere should it not go?
NORA FURNISH
Because it lights upward, it needs clear space above it. Avoid placing it under a low shelf, a sloping ceiling or a hanging cabinet, where the light would be blocked.
QHow tall is the torchiere?
NORA FURNISH
It stands 66.93 inches high, a little over five and a half feet, on a base 9.06 inches wide and deep. It weighs 9.26 lb, so it is steady yet easy to move.
QCan it replace a ceiling light?
NORA FURNISH
In many rooms, yes. The light bounces off the ceiling and spreads across the room, giving soft general brightness. In a large room, two torchieres in opposite corners light the space more evenly.
QIs it good for reading?
NORA FURNISH
It gives good general light, but the light is indirect. For close reading, add a table lamp or a reading floor lamp beside your seat, and let the torchiere light the rest of the room.
QWill it work with a dark ceiling?
NORA FURNISH
It will still light the room, but a pale ceiling reflects much more light. Under a dark or wood ceiling, expect a softer, moodier glow rather than bright general light.
QDoes it need a bulb?
NORA FURNISH
No. The LED is built in, dimmable and color changing, so there is no bulb to buy and none to replace later. It plugs into an ordinary outlet.
QWhat is it made of?
NORA FURNISH
It is made from metal with an integrated LED. Slight variation in finish between pieces is normal, so lamps in a set may differ very slightly in tone.
QCan I use a color in a kids' room?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. A soft color, dimmed low, makes a gentle bedtime light. Keep the lamp in a corner where it will not be knocked, and keep the cord tidy and out of play areas.
