The shade slides to change the beam, so one fixture covers both jobs. Open it and you get a wide wash across the wall; close it and the beam narrows to a tight column. Yes. It is hardwired to a mains supply, so turn the power off at the breaker before starting and have an electrician make the connection. The mounting plate and screws are included.

Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.
