Common Questions
Answered by the Nora Furnish team
About this piece
Will it glare into my eyes on the stairs?
No. The light is soft and even rather than a bright spot, which is what makes a stairway safe to use without dazzling anyone coming down it. It lights the tread rather than your face.
Where does it mount?
At 1.42 inches wide, it is a slim bar that sits under a stair nosing or along a deck edge. Each light comes with its mounting hardware, and the cable should run in suitable outdoor conduit.
How many will I need?
It is sold singly or in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10. Sets of up to ten cover a full flight of steps in one order, with one light per step for the clearest effect.
Shipping, returns and help
Is shipping free?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.
What is your return policy?
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.
Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?
Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.
Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.
Can I order it in another size or finish?
Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.
How do I reach you?
Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

Customer Reviews
QWill it glare into my eyes on the stairs?
NORA FURNISH
No. The light is soft and even rather than a bright spot, which is what makes a stairway safe to use without dazzling anyone coming down it. It lights the tread rather than your face.
QWhere does it mount?
NORA FURNISH
At 1.42 inches wide, it is a slim bar that sits under a stair nosing or along a deck edge. Each light comes with its mounting hardware, and the cable should run in suitable outdoor conduit.
QHow many will I need?
NORA FURNISH
It is sold singly or in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10. Sets of up to ten cover a full flight of steps in one order, with one light per step for the clearest effect.
QHow big is each light?
NORA FURNISH
Each light measures 1.42 inches wide, 11.81 inches deep and 5.91 inches high, and weighs 2.20 lb. The slim width lets it sit under a stair nosing without standing out.
QWhat is it made of?
NORA FURNISH
It is made from stainless steel with a gray finish. Slight variation in finish between pieces is normal. Stainless steel suits a fitting that is rained on and walked past all year.
QIs it weatherproof?
NORA FURNISH
It is sealed to IP65 against dust and rain, so it suits exposed deck stairs, garden steps and retaining walls. Keep the lens clear of leaves and grit so the light is not blocked.
QDoes it need a bulb?
NORA FURNISH
No. The LED is built in and gives soft, even light, so no separate bulb is bought and none is replaced later. That is useful for a light fixed under a step.
QIs mounting hardware included?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. Each light comes with its mounting hardware. It is hardwired, so an electrician should fit it with the power off at the breaker, with the cable in suitable outdoor conduit.
QCan I use it along a driveway?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. A run of these along a curb or a raised edge gives a continuous guiding line at night. Space them evenly so the light reads as a steady line from a car.
QHow many come in a set?
NORA FURNISH
It is sold singly or in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10. Count the steps or the length of edge you want to light, then choose the set that covers it.
