Common Questions
Answered by the Nora Furnish team
About this piece
Which power supply should I choose?
Solar suits a sunny garden with no outlet, battery and USB rechargeable suit a tent, a balcony or a spot you use now and then, and hardwired suits a permanent pergola or patio where the lights should come on every evening.
How does the solar version work?
It charges through the day and switches itself on at dusk, so there is no cable to bury and no transformer to add. Keep the solar panel free of dust and leaves so it charges fully.
How many strings do I need?
It is sold singly or in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10, and the quantity you choose is the number shipped. Measure the run first, and email info@norafurnish.com to confirm how far one string reaches.
Shipping, returns and help
Is shipping free?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.
What is your return policy?
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.
Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?
Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.
Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.

Customer Reviews
QWhich power supply should I choose?
NORA FURNISH
Solar suits a sunny garden with no outlet, battery and USB rechargeable suit a tent, a balcony or a spot you use now and then, and hardwired suits a permanent pergola or patio where the lights should come on every evening.
QHow does the solar version work?
NORA FURNISH
It charges through the day and switches itself on at dusk, so there is no cable to bury and no transformer to add. Keep the solar panel free of dust and leaves so it charges fully.
QHow many strings do I need?
NORA FURNISH
It is sold singly or in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10, and the quantity you choose is the number shipped. Measure the run first, and email info@norafurnish.com to confirm how far one string reaches.
QDoes the solar version need an outlet?
NORA FURNISH
No. It charges through the day and switches itself on at dusk, so there is no cable to bury and no transformer to add. It only needs a spot where the panel gets direct sun for most of the day.
QWhich version suits a garden party away from the house?
NORA FURNISH
The battery and USB rechargeable versions are the most portable, since they need no outlet and no sunny spot for a panel. They suit a tent, a canopy or a balcony you only light now and then.
QCan it stay up all year?
NORA FURNISH
The listing describes it as sealed for permanent outdoor use. Keep the solar panel free of dust and leaves, wipe the bulbs with a soft, dry cloth now and then, and check the fixings after strong winds.
QHow long is one string?
NORA FURNISH
The string length is not listed. The Dimensions section gives 13.78 by 17.72 by 7.87 inches and 3.31 lb. Email info@norafurnish.com to confirm the run of one string before you plan a pergola or fence.
QWhat do the globe bulbs look like when lit?
NORA FURNISH
They spread light softly in every direction, so a string reads as a line of glowing points rather than a harsh strip. That is what makes a patio or a garden table feel inviting after dark.
QIs mounting hardware included?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. All required mounting hardware and instructions are included, so you can hang the strings from hooks, posts or a pergola frame. Plan the fixing points before you start so the strings sag evenly.
QHow should I hang it over a patio?
NORA FURNISH
Hang the strings high enough to walk under, with a gentle sag between fixing points. A zigzag between two walls or rows of posts covers more area than one straight line and gives a fuller canopy of light.
