Common Questions
Answered by the Nora Furnish team
About this piece
Which size should I choose?
The small is 6.7 inches wide and 15.7 inches tall, a good fit beside a bed or in a hallway. The large is 8.7 inches wide and 19.7 inches tall, with more presence on a living room feature wall or beside a fireplace.
Where does the light go?
Upward. The flared shade is open at the top, so the light washes the wall and ceiling above it. That lifts a low ceiling and gives a soft glow, which is why it suits a bedside where a reading beam is not wanted.
What bulb does it take?
It takes an E14 bulb, and the listed color temperature is 2700K to 3999K, a warm to neutral white. The sconce is hardwired, so have an electrician connect it with the power off at the breaker.
Shipping, returns and help
Is shipping free?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.
What is your return policy?
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.
Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?
Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.
Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.
Can I order it in another size or finish?
Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.
How do I reach you?
Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

Customer Reviews
QWhich size should I choose?
NORA FURNISH
The small is 6.7 inches wide and 15.7 inches tall, a good fit beside a bed or in a hallway. The large is 8.7 inches wide and 19.7 inches tall, with more presence on a living room feature wall or beside a fireplace.
QWhere does the light go?
NORA FURNISH
Upward. The flared shade is open at the top, so the light washes the wall and ceiling above it. That lifts a low ceiling and gives a soft glow, which is why it suits a bedside where a reading beam is not wanted.
QWhat bulb does it take?
NORA FURNISH
It takes an E14 bulb, and the listed color temperature is 2700K to 3999K, a warm to neutral white. The sconce is hardwired, so have an electrician connect it with the power off at the breaker.
QWhat is the sconce made of?
NORA FURNISH
It is made from brass, with gold, black or chrome finishes. Slight variation in color and finish between units is normal on this kind of fixture, so a pair may differ very slightly.
QWhich finish should I choose?
NORA FURNISH
Gold is warm and classic and suits walnut, marble and rich paint colors. Black looks graphic and modern against pale walls. Chrome is bright and crisp and suits polished bathroom or kitchen hardware.
QIs it good beside a bed?
NORA FURNISH
Yes, for soft light. The open top sends light upward, so it will not shine into a partner's eyes. The small size, 6.7 inches wide and 15.7 inches tall, suits most bedside walls. Add a reading light for books.
QHow is it installed?
NORA FURNISH
The sconce is hardwired. Turn the power off at the breaker and have an electrician connect it. All required mounting hardware and instructions are included in the box with the sconce.
QWhat color is the light?
NORA FURNISH
The listing gives a color temperature of 2700K to 3999K, which ranges from warm white to a soft neutral white. Choose an E14 bulb in that range and use the same bulb in every sconce.
QCan I use a pair beside a fireplace?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. The large size, 8.7 inches wide and 19.7 inches tall, has good presence beside a fireplace. Measure from the center of the fireplace and mark both positions at the same height before drilling.
QWill it work on a textured wall?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. Uplight shows off brick, limewash and wood paneling, since the light skims across the surface. Leave open wall above the flare so the glow can spread across the texture.
