Common Questions

Answered by the Nora Furnish team

About this piece

Is a bulb included?

No. It uses a standard screw socket, listed as E26 110V, so you supply your own bulb. A warm white bulb suits the bamboo best and brings out its golden tone.

What are the four designs?

The Design option offers a Flush Mount Globe that sits close to the ceiling, a Pendant Globe and a Pendant Dome that hang, and Design C. Check the photos for each before ordering.

Why does my shade look slightly different?

Each bamboo shade is woven by hand, so the weave pattern may differ slightly from one piece to the next. That small variation is part of the natural, handmade character of the light.

Shipping, returns and help

Is shipping free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.

What is your return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.

What if it arrives damaged or faulty?

We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?

Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.

Do I need an electrician?

Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.

Can I order it in another size or finish?

Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.

How do I reach you?

Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

10 questions

QIs a bulb included?

NORA FURNISH

No. It uses a standard screw socket, listed as E26 110V, so you supply your own bulb. A warm white bulb suits the bamboo best and brings out its golden tone.

QWhat are the four designs?

NORA FURNISH

The Design option offers a Flush Mount Globe that sits close to the ceiling, a Pendant Globe and a Pendant Dome that hang, and Design C. Check the photos for each before ordering.

QWhy does my shade look slightly different?

NORA FURNISH

Each bamboo shade is woven by hand, so the weave pattern may differ slightly from one piece to the next. That small variation is part of the natural, handmade character of the light.

QWhat is it made of?

NORA FURNISH

It is natural woven bamboo over a metal frame. Because the bamboo is woven by hand, the weave pattern may differ slightly from piece to piece, and slight variation in color and finish is normal.

QHow big is the shade?

NORA FURNISH

The shade measures 7.9 by 7.9 by 5.9 inches. That compact size suits hallways, entryways, bedrooms and reading nooks, where a larger fixture would crowd the ceiling.

QWhich bulb should I use?

NORA FURNISH

It takes a standard screw socket, listed as E26 110V, and the bulb is not included. A warm white bulb suits the bamboo best. A clear bulb casts sharper shadow patterns, and a frosted one softens them.

QCan I hang it over a dining table?

NORA FURNISH

Choose a pendant design over a small table or a breakfast nook. For a large dining table, two or three pendants in a row give better coverage than a single compact shade.

QIs it suitable for a low ceiling?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. Choose the Flush Mount Globe design, which sits close to the ceiling. The pendant designs hang lower and suit spaces with more headroom, such as over a table.

QCan I install it myself?

NORA FURNISH

It wires into a ceiling point, so turn the power off at the breaker and have an electrician make the connection. The socket and voltage must match your household wiring.

QCan I use it in a bathroom?

NORA FURNISH

No. Keep it away from moisture and direct sunlight to protect the natural bamboo. It is best in dry rooms such as hallways, entries, living rooms and bedrooms.

Love the design

Incredible quality for the price. I was expecting something that looked like a budget buy and got something that looks genuinely premium. The finish is flawless and the build is solid. Been up for three months and still looks perfect.

Great purchase overall

Nice piece. The design is elegant and the quality is better than I expected at this price. One of the pieces had a very small scuff in the finish but honestly you'd never notice once it's installed. Looks great in our space.

Has potential

Decent piece for the price. The design is nice and it looks okay once installed. Had a bit of trouble with the installation — the included hardware wasn't quite the right size. Managed to sort it with hardware store replacements. Looks fine overall.
