About the Heirloom
Key Features
- Pull chain switch, easy to find in the dark
- Fabric shade gives warm, soft light
- Suits a reading corner or hallway
- Single lamp or sets of up to 8
A pull chain is the detail that makes this feel older than it is, and it is genuinely easier to find in the dark than a switch halfway down a cord. A fabric shade over a nearly six foot frame throws a warm, soft light that suits a reading corner or a hallway. 53 lb it stands firm without needing to be against a wall. It is the sort of lamp that looks like it has always been in the room.

Common Questions
Answered by the Nora Furnish team
About this piece
How do I switch it on?
It has a pull chain on the fitting, just below the shade. Give the chain a gentle tug to switch it on or off. It is easier to find in the dark than a small switch on the cord.
Is a bulb included?
No. Bulbs are not included, so buy one at the same time as the lamp. A warm white bulb suits the fabric shade and the vintage look best.
Does it need to stand against a wall?
No. At 16.53 lb with a 15.75 inch footprint, it stands firmly on its own, so it can sit beside a chair in the middle of a room or at the end of a sofa.
Shipping, returns and help
Is shipping free?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.
What is your return policy?
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.
What if it arrives damaged or faulty?
We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.
Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?
Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.
Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.
Can I order it in another size or finish?
Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.
How do I reach you?
Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

Customer Reviews
QHow do I switch it on?
NORA FURNISH
It has a pull chain on the fitting, just below the shade. Give the chain a gentle tug to switch it on or off. It is easier to find in the dark than a small switch on the cord.
QIs a bulb included?
NORA FURNISH
No. Bulbs are not included, so buy one at the same time as the lamp. A warm white bulb suits the fabric shade and the vintage look best.
QDoes it need to stand against a wall?
NORA FURNISH
No. At 16.53 lb with a 15.75 inch footprint, it stands firmly on its own, so it can sit beside a chair in the middle of a room or at the end of a sofa.
QHow tall is the lamp?
NORA FURNISH
It stands 66.93 inches high, a little over five and a half feet, on a footprint of 15.75 by 15.75 inches. It weighs 16.53 lb, which keeps it steady on its own.
QIs it bright enough for reading?
NORA FURNISH
It gives a soft, warm light that suits casual reading beside a chair. For long reading sessions or close work, pair it with a focused task lamp or choose a brighter warm bulb.
QWhat is it made of?
NORA FURNISH
It is made from metal with a fabric shade. Slight variation in the fabric between pieces is normal, so lamps in a set may differ very slightly in tone.
QHow do I clean the fabric shade?
NORA FURNISH
Dust the shade with a soft brush or a lint roller rather than a damp cloth, which can mark the fabric. Wipe the base with a soft, dry cloth.
QDoes it need an electrician?
NORA FURNISH
No. It plugs into an ordinary outlet, so there is no wiring work. Assemble it, fit a bulb, plug it in and switch it on with the pull chain.
QWill it suit a farmhouse room?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. The pull chain, fabric shade and warm glow suit farmhouse, cottage and vintage interiors, especially alongside wood furniture, linen, wool textures and painted cabinets.
QCan I use it in a hallway?
NORA FURNISH
Yes. Its soft glow makes a welcoming hallway light, and the pull chain is easy to reach as you pass. Keep the base out of the main walking line.
