Common Questions

Answered by the Nora Furnish team

About this piece

Which length suits a bed wall?

Above a queen or king bed, the 47.2 or 59.1 inch length usually looks balanced. The 31.5 and 39.4 inch lengths suit narrow walls and hallways, and the 78.7 inch length frames a wide feature wall.

3 step or dimmable?

The 3 step version moves between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K, a quick way to change the mood. The dimmable version adjusts smoothly from 3000K to 6000K for finer control through the evening.

Black or white?

White blends into a pale wall so only the line of light shows, while black gives a crisp graphic outline on light walls, wood paneling or concrete.

Is this light bright enough for a living room?

The lumen output depends on the bulb you choose. As a general rule, aim for 1,500 to 3,000 lumens per 150 sq ft of living space. Our fixture accommodates bulbs up to the listed max wattage, a 10W LED typically outputs 800 to 900 lumens, comparable to a 60W incandescent.

What color temperature light does this produce?

The color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy feel we recommend 2700 to 3000K (warm white). For kitchens and workspaces 3500 to 4000K (neutral/cool white) works well. The fixture accepts any color temperature within the compatible bulb base.

Is this UL listed or ETL certified?

The listing does not state a UL or ETL certification for this light, so email info@norafurnish.com before ordering if you need one.

How long is the included hanging cord or chain?

It does not hang on a cord, chain or rod, so there is no drop to set. The full measurements are in the Specifications section on this page.

Can the height be customized for high ceilings?

It does not hang on a cord, chain or rod, so there is no drop to set. The full measurements are in the Specifications section on this page.

Can I use LED bulbs with this fixture?

Absolutely, we actually recommend LED bulbs. They run cooler, last longer, and consume far less energy than incandescent. Just stay at or below the max wattage listed on the fixture.

Shipping, returns and help

Is shipping free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order delivered within the United States, with no minimum purchase.

What is your return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging. Email info@norafurnish.com before sending anything back.

What if it arrives damaged or faulty?

We send a replacement at no charge, and the return costs you nothing. Email your order number and a photo of the problem to info@norafurnish.com.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return arrives and is approved, the refund usually shows on your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

Is there a discount when I buy more than one item?

Yes. Add 2 items to your cart and you save 10%, add 3 or more and you save 15%. It applies automatically, no code needed, and cannot be combined with other discount codes.

Do I need an electrician?

Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.

Can I order it in another size or finish?

Every size and finish available is listed in the options above. For help finding the closest match in the catalog, email info@norafurnish.com.

How do I reach you?

Email info@norafurnish.com. The team works Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST), and replies within 1 to 2 business days.

10 questions

QWhich length suits a bed wall?

NORA FURNISH

Above a queen or king bed, the 47.2 or 59.1 inch length usually looks balanced. The 31.5 and 39.4 inch lengths suit narrow walls and hallways, and the 78.7 inch length frames a wide feature wall.

Q3 step or dimmable?

NORA FURNISH

The 3 step version moves between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K, a quick way to change the mood. The dimmable version adjusts smoothly from 3000K to 6000K for finer control through the evening.

QBlack or white?

NORA FURNISH

White blends into a pale wall so only the line of light shows, while black gives a crisp graphic outline on light walls, wood paneling or concrete.

QWhat lengths are available?

NORA FURNISH

Five lengths, listed as 31.5, 39.4, 47.2, 59.1 and 78.7 inches, with exact measurements from 31.50 to 78.74 inches in the Dimensions section. Every length is 1.30 inches wide.

QWhat is it made of?

NORA FURNISH

It is made from aluminum with an acrylic shade. Slight variation in color and finish between units is normal on this kind of fixture, and the mounting hardware is included.

QWhat light options are there?

NORA FURNISH

A 3 step version that moves between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K, and a dimmable version that adjusts from 3000K to 6000K for finer control through the evening.

QCan it replace bedside sconces?

NORA FURNISH

It can provide the soft background glow above a bed. For focused reading light, pair it with bedside lamps or small reading lights on each side of the bed.

QHow deep is it?

NORA FURNISH

It is 2.05 inches deep and 1.30 inches wide, so it sits close to the wall and suits hallways and walls behind furniture where space is tight.

QWhich color is least visible when off?

NORA FURNISH

White on a white or pale wall is the least visible, so only the line of light shows when it is on. Black gives a crisp outline on light walls or wood.

QIs it good for a hallway?

NORA FURNISH

Yes. A long bar lights a hallway evenly from end to end, and the dimmable version lets you soften the light at night without switching it off completely.
