The 20.5 inch light runs at 12W and the 39.4 inch light at 24W, it is hardwired on 110V to 240V, and it is rated IP56 for outdoor weather.

What makes the slot sconce stand out

The tapered slot is the signature. The diffuser narrows as it runs down the face, so the light itself becomes a sharp graphic shape, like a blade of light set into the wall. It is a detail people notice from the street.

Most of the light goes down. Below the slot, a soft fan of light spreads across the wall and lands on the step or path, which is where you actually need it. The face glows, but it never glares.

The folded frame looks good in daylight too. The angled planes of the iron catch the sun and cast small shadows, so the sconce reads as crisp modern hardware even when it is switched off.

A few guidelines help:

• For a standard front door, choose the 20.5 inch height, usually mounted as a pair.
• For a tall door, a pillar or a double height wall, the 39.4 inch height keeps the proportions right.
• Mount a pair at the same height, with the top of each light roughly in line with the top of the door frame.
• Plan the wiring with an electrician so both junction boxes are placed symmetrically.

Layering it with other lighting

A slot sconce is the welcome layer. It frames the door and lights the step, and it looks best with a few quiet lights around it. Low path lights along the walk lead guests to the door without competing with the sconces.

Repeat the shape elsewhere. Around a garden or a drive, slim bollard lights carry the same tall, narrow geometry from the gate to the entrance.

Keep the light warm. With the sconces at 3000K, warm white path and garden lights make the whole front of the house feel consistent and inviting.

Care is easy. Switch the light off and let it cool, then wipe the frame and the diffuser with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners and solvents on the acrylic, and dry the iron fully after cleaning or heavy rain.
