The cutout is what makes this one work. Instead of a glowing lens you see a lit slot in a dark body, which keeps the fixture visually quiet in daylight and stops it glaring at you across the garden at night. Two voltage options mean it drops into a low voltage garden run or straight onto mains.

Light and power
- The body is die cast aluminum with an acrylic diffuser in a weatherproof powder coated finish, rated IP65 for outdoor use, with the LED built in so there is no bulb to replace.
- The face is cut out, so what shows is a lit shape rather than a bright bulb, and at ankle height that marks the edge of a path cleanly without glare into the eyes.
- Read the supply option carefully, because the two versions are not interchangeable once ordered: the mains version wires into a household supply, and the low voltage version needs a suitable transformer on the circuit.
Setup
- Either way, have an electrician make the connection and turn the power off at the breaker before starting.

Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired fixtures such as chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts and wall sconces connect to your home wiring, so we recommend a licensed electrician for those. Plug in, battery, solar and rechargeable lights need no wiring.
