The battery is rechargeable and built in, so there are no batteries to buy, and the LED light source is built in. The styles named Bracket come with a bracket and the styles named Remote come with a handheld remote.

There is a magnet on the back, so it will hold on a metal shelf, a cabinet side or a fridge with nothing to fix. On a wooden or painted surface use the bracket instead. Charge it fully before the first use. Touch the body to switch it and change the brightness on the styles without a remote. At 7.9 inches of lit length it works as a shelf, desk or cabinet light rather than as the main light in a room. Decorative accessories and items shown in product photos are not included with purchase.

The lamp matches the description. We use it constantly for obvious reasons. I have four lamps without a remote control, so I decided to try this model. The remote control is nice; it's good that the battery is included and you can immediately check its operation. Another advantage of this model is the presence of a sleep timer. You can immediately turn on the required percentage of lighting and select a mode without getting up from your seat. Having experience with both models, I can say that you should have several lamps with remote controls (for the children's room, bedroom).

Having used both versions, your comparison between the lamps with and without a remote is genuinely valuable. We agree the sleep timer and being able to set the brightness from your seat make a real difference in a bedroom or a child's room. I am ordering for the second time. Convenient for backup lighting above a desk or bed. It's hard to find the power button in the dark because it doesn't light up, but I've gotten a bit used to it.
