It stands 13.39 inches tall overall, with a shade 5.51 inches long and 2.36 inches across on a round wall plate of 3.94 inches, and the arm reaches 9.06 inches. It is an iron frame with a plastic shade. Read the style option before ordering, since the switched versions carry an inline switch on the fixture and the others rely on a wall switch. The head rotates, so the light can be aimed at a book or a doorway rather than the middle of the room. Turn the power off at the breaker before starting and have an electrician make the connection if there is nothing at the spot. Mount it into something solid at the height it will be used.
