- Height over a table: Hang the bottom 30 to 36 inches above the tabletop on an 8 foot ceiling, and add about 3 inches for each extra foot of ceiling height.
- Height in open floor space: In an entry or living room, keep the bottom at least 7 feet above the floor.
- Weight and support: Larger crystal and multi arm fixtures are heavy. Confirm the ceiling box is rated for the weight and have a licensed electrician handle the install.
Styling tip: Match the chandelier's metal to one other element in the room, such as cabinet pulls or a mirror frame, instead of every fixture. One repeat looks intentional, while a full matching set can feel flat.
