The swing arm moves the light rather than the lamp, so a chair can be read in without dragging the base across a rug every time. At just over five feet the head sits above the shoulder where a book is actually held. Under seven pounds makes it the easiest lamp here to carry between rooms. Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the painted finish. Switch the lamp off and unplug it before changing the bulb.
What ships depends on the set you select, in the finish you choose. The swing arm and head angle are set by hand and hold their position. It plugs into an ordinary outlet, so no wiring work is needed. It is light for its height, so site the base where it will not be knocked, and keep the arm clear of a walkway when swung out. Decorative accessories and items shown in product photos are not included with purchase.
