It is made from solid walnut with the grain left visible rather than painted over. It mounts on the wall and is not powered. Fix it into a stud, or use wall plugs suited to the wall, since a loaded coat rack carries more weight than it looks like it should, and set it at a height that keeps a long coat off the floor. Think about spacing when choosing the length, because a wider rail keeps jackets from crowding each other. Wipe it with a dry cloth and keep it away from damp.
