The ceramic body holds its painted stripes permanently, since the color is fired into the glaze rather than printed on the surface, so it will not fade or wear off with handling. It works equally well holding a plant or standing empty as a shape on a shelf, which is a real test of whether a vase earns its spot in a room. The glazed finish is easy to wipe down, so water rings or soil marks come off without scrubbing. Its rounded silhouette adds a soft shape among the straight lines of most shelving and furniture. Because the stripes are colorful rather than a single tone, it works as a standalone accent piece without needing other decor to support it.
One piece is included in the color and size you select. The tall vase shape is 9.06 inches high and 4.33 inches across; the round pot shape is 5.31 inches high and 5.51 inches across. It is glazed ceramic with a watertight interior, so it holds water directly, and the glaze may vary slightly between pieces.
Because the inside is sealed it works as a vase with water in it, or as a cover pot with a plant left in its nursery pot and dropped inside. There is no drainage hole, so do not plant straight into it. The tall shape suits long stems and the round one a short bunch or a small plant. Change the water every few days when it holds flowers. Wash it by hand rather than in a dishwasher, since the glaze does not take the heat and detergent well. Flowers, plants and items shown in product photos are not included with purchase.
