What makes this one useful is the anti glare reflector set deep in the aluminum housing, which pushes the light source back so you get a clean wash of light without that bright dot staring back at you from the ceiling. That deep set design is the difference between a downlight that feels harsh and one that just quietly does its job over a kitchen, hallway, or living area. Pick a lower wattage when you want gentle accent light, or step up toward the higher wattage end when you need to actually light a whole room, and choose the dimmable option if you want to dial the brightness down in the evening. With a black or white frame and warm, natural, or cool color temperature to match the rest of your space, it covers a lot of ground without paying for a fancy designer fixture.
Includes one downlight with its spring clips and driver, in the frame finish and wattage selected above. The 7W and 10W are 3.35 inches across and 1.73 inches high with a 2.95 to 3.15 inch cut hole; the 15W and 18W are 3.94 inches across and 2.05 inches high with a larger cut hole. The LED light source is built in, so no bulb is needed or included.
Check the cut hole size for your wattage before ordering and against any existing holes in the ceiling, since the two are not interchangeable. Turn the power off at the breaker, cut the hole, connect the driver to the ceiling wiring, fold the spring clips up and push the fitting into the hole so the clips grip the plasterboard. The LED is recessed behind a deep baffle, which is what stops you seeing the source when you look up at it and keeps glare off a screen or a dining table. Wiring at household voltage should be done by an electrician. Decorative accessories and items shown in product photos are not included with purchase.
