The shade is 7.87 inches high and 3.94 inches across in matte finished metal, and the cord adjusts up to 3.9 feet, so the drop is set when it goes up. Colors may vary slightly from the photos. It wires into a ceiling point rather than plugging in, so turn the power off at the breaker before starting and have an electrician run a supply to the spot if there is nothing there already. Hang it low and close beside the bed, which is the point of a pendant this slim, since it drops a pool of light on the book and leaves the whole nightstand free for everything else.
